House party

You may need to do lots of preparation compared to a garden party. Clearing spaces may be necessary. More things can break at a house party as there's less room.

People may enjoy an outside atmosphere. If you have a garden you may consider a garden party. You usually have more room outside.

On the other hand if there's lots of pollution nearby. Things may also blow away outside. The noise from the party might also neighbours more easily than a party indoors.

A single outside area might be good if you prefer to keep an eye on certain guests.

If you want to invite hotties they typically wear fewer clothes if the weather is hot.

Setting up can be as easy as putting chairs around. You can ask people to bring their own chairs if that's better for you.

In a garden you usually don't have too many things that can break. You might have to move gnomes etc.

An outside party might be better for people who smoke and those who bring dogs.

The downside is that your party is more dependent on the weather. You may need a backup plan if the weather is bad. Not all equipment is suitable for outside.

If the party is in daylight hours than a supply of sunscreen is a good idea.

Garage party

To get a mixture of the advantages outlined above you can have a garage party. This is probably best if your garage is inside your gate. Some people can be inside the garage and some can be outside.

It's also possible that a garage party would annoy your flat mates less, but could bother your neighbors more.

Your garage can have a fridge with drinks in it. A fridge in the garage might be more convenient than a fringe in the kitchen while the party in in the living-room.

You'd need to store your vehicle somewhere to make room for your guests. You might want to clear the area as you would with an indoor party.

Equipment that's not waterproof can be stored in the back of the garage.

If messes occur they might be easier to clean up on concrete than carpet indoors. Concrete might be problematic if people are prone to falling.
