Do you want to throw an American themed house party? Check out our tips below.
This theme is sometimes called "Let The Freedom Ring".
Dates
Of course you can have an American themed party for July 4th celebrations. You might have one to watch the superbowl.
You can have an American house party at any time.
Invitations
You might want to feature the flag of the U.S.A. on them, or upload a picture of it if you're doing a Facebook invite.
You could also feature Uncle Sam or a Bald Eagle.
Outfit
You could ask guests to wear red, white and blue and/or clothes with the U.S.A. flag on them.
Guests could also wear Uncle Sam hats.
Decorations
American flags would be the obvious theme.
Buy flag table cloths at Amazon or mini flags you can hang up, also at Amazon.
If you want paper lanterns you can buy red, white and blue ones at Amazon.
You could also have signs with Uncle Sam and a caption.
You could make white stars and red stripes out of paper too.
Food
Hot dogs would be my pick. Other options could be Buffalo Chicken Wings, pizza, hot chips. Pizza and french fries (hot chips) didn't originate in the U.S.A. but are still popular in this country.
For desert you could serve red, white and blue ice cream; the flavors would be strawberry, vanilla and blueberry.
You could have red, white and blue candy too.
Music
If your party will play rock music don't forget to add Born In The U.S.A. by Bruce Springsteento your playlist.
What to watch
You can watch one of the American Pie movies.
You could also watch football if a game is on.
Games
Why not have trivia about American history/culture. Sports trivia could also work.
Fireworks
Fireworks in some form are allowed in all states except Massachusetts. Many states only allow non-aerial and non-explosive fireworks.
It would be best to have a sober attendee manage the fireworks. Keep fireworks a good distance away from other people, buildings and fences. Follow any safety instructions that come with the package.
You may want to tell your neighbors that you're putting on fireworks so they could choose to take their pets somewhere else. People who have sensory issues might also appreciate a heads up.
Alternatively you could party in a place near a public fireworks display.
